Eating meat milk and eggs is toxic for our bodies.  Like other toxins, alcohol and tobacco for instance, we can consume them for many years before experiencing illness because of it.  However, whilst we are consuming them all toxins take something away from us, the full joy of really vibrant health and wellbeing.

I don’t eat any animal ‘products’ because I do not want to harm use or exploit any other living being, so I haven’t studied the science of nutrition much as to me, its about ethics, and if millions of people can thrive on a vegan diet, if top sports stars are using a vegan diet for optimum health, and if vegan communities have survived and been healthy for centuries….that’s enough evidence for me.

The little I’ve gleaned of the actual science of nutrition you will have to verify in the links below, with the scientists, doctors and nutritionists who can demonstrate their findings with decades of study and evidence of healing people with a vegan diet.  But as far as I understand it there are several problems physiologically with eating meat milk and eggs;

1. The body has an acid alkaline balance which must be maintained for optimum health, eating meat milk and eggs acidifies the body.  An acidic body is an ideal environment for cancer to thrive in.

2. The human body is not meant to get more than 10% of its calories from protein, and eating meat milk and eggs especially in the quantities we do, we go three or four times over our protein requirement.  The body is brilliant at healing and rebalancing itself, so it finds a way.  But in order to deal with the extra protein it draws calcium from our bones, which leads to osteoporosis and other health conditions.  Completely contrary to the dairy industry myth about milk being good for our bones, the countries who consume the most dairy have the highest rates of osteoporosis.

3. The saturated fat and cholesterol which meat milk and eggs are mostly made up of, clogs our cells and arteries and this leads to diabetes, heart disease and strokes.  Diabetes is a disease medical doctors diagnose and claim to their patients there is no cure for.  Yet almost all people who stick to a vegan healthy diet are entirely clear of diabetes within months.  This recently happened to my neighbour he was diagnosed with diabetes, and went on a vegan diet and the symptoms entirely disappeared.  He went to the doctor for his next appointment and the doctor simply couldn’t understand…he only knew what he’d been taught, that diabetes is incurable and requires lifelong medication.  Medical doctors receive almost no nutritional training and are not, it seems, aware enough of the damaging effects of meat milk and eggs or the healing power of the vegan whole food diet.

Colleen Patrick-Goudreau challenges the meat and dairy myths and explains how you can get all the nutrients your body needs in compassionate, ethical and environmentally sound ways.
